I would just weld it
I would just weld it
yea im a dumbass for drilling and not using an existing bolt..
i never do that.. but the drill was right there.. idiot...
not goin to weld it unless i have to.
No fuel came out.. but i do only have abut 5 bucks worth of gas in the tank..
its sealed right now with putty stuff and metal tape.
will the lack of pressure still allow my car to drive normal. I didnt drive it yet.. only let it idle.
btw i didnt put the ground there... move it to an existing bolt like i should of done in the first place

Yes, yes it does.

Man, you are the reason why amateurs should not do their own installs. Granted, I was an amateur once... but I always thought to look under the car before I drilled.
On the other hand, I have seen amps mounted "professionally" to gas tanks and spare tires before. We just tell the customer we're not going to touch it.
I would not drive the car like that. At least get yourself a fire extinguisher until you get the good sense to have it fixed professionally.

You'll probably need to drop the tank to fix it correctly, since sealing it from the seat area will only seal the hole in the body, and not the tank, unless you can goop enough sealant in there to get to the tank hole, but then you run the risk of dripping sealant into the tank, which can cause bigger problems...

...but he knowsnow to look before drilling, lol. I used to not know what i was doing but i always looked before i did anything.

the original statement was ... will having no pressure or Low pressure in the tank cause a problem.
the tank is so close to the body that i was able to seal it and no gas comes out cuz its on the top..
will it affect the drivability...
i dont care about smart comments because i knew what i did was stupid and **** happens.. i was rushing and wasnt thinking.. and being lazy cuz my drillwas right there..

Maybe you can try to pressurize the tank somehow? Maybe fit an air hose into the filler neck and blow some air in, then get in and put your ear near the hole and see if it hisses? If not, then I think you should be okay...
BTW: What kind of car is this? I know on the newer cars lack of tank pressure (by not screwing the gas cap tight enough) can kick out a CEL, but not sure about older cars....

95 civic ...
thanks for your comment..
the tank is so close to the body.. i just put sticky medal adhesive over it ... like dynamat and it seems to be fine..
jsut wanted to know if driving the car will be fine..
the hole is about the thinkness of a medal hanger.. not too think so i dont think it will be that big of a deal..
but when i went through with the drill... a lot of pressure came out..

haha i wonder yhe deleted what he typed out.
for all who doesnt know, he drilled a hole in his car to ground an amplifier but he drilled right through the back seat metal and went right into the gas tank.

i measure my grounds compared to the battery terminal and they are all good. if u do it right it will be a good ground with an existing bolt
