just about to do up my first merge collector and have all the specs i want etc.

question i have is (and this seams difficult to find) do you use a straight piece at the choke point for 1" or whatever before it expands out, or should you just have the collector, then expanding straight out again?

or if no body is sure, can ppl pls post pics of their merge collectors (or ones on websites) that show what they do?

What kind of header are you building?

 

4-1. 1.75" primaries 30" long, 2.25" choke expanding back out to a 2.5" header back system.

 

Typically the expansion starts immediately after the collector.

would there be any reason why i would have a straight peice before the expansion?
