Default ECHC H2 question

Allow me to preface this by stating that yes, I did read the rule book...

Having said the above, would there be any infraction with me running a JDM ITR tranny equipped with a 4.929 final drive?

Just want to make sure of everything before I go ahead with it. Thanks in advance for the clarification

If your supposed to follow the rules
Then why is there talk of scca prod cars being in H1!!!????
They use slicks, glass hoods, glass fenders, lexan windows fully gutted interior ie no dash etc....

Because H1 rules are the exception. They are different from the rest.

Exactly.

Anyone have a definitive answer? I would assume this would be allowed, but just didn't want to act on my assumption.

Thanks

I might be technically illegal, because it is JDM, but as long as all the other gears are the same, I wouldn't protest you or have a problem with it, but then again, I don't make the rules...

Unfortunately, if it's technically illegal, someone will likely eventually protest it (even if Corey wouldn't), and I don't imagine a person would really want to run a "technically" illegal car given that it's not really in the spirit of the series Karl and Scott set up. And before anyone thinks I'm accusing Jason of cheating, I am aware he asked the question so he *would* be legal.

JDM tranny is not leagal. It says that all other gearing must remain stock... or some chit like that.

F.D. is the only tranny mod allowed.

On a lighter note ...

It will be OK for me to run the "guide bar" and race belts @ the ITR EXPO.
Just heard back from Phil this morning. Ed

Do keep it shiney side up then... cause if you don't, the car will land on your head when the roof crushes.
Yes Dear, ... it's hard on the paint, too.

aside from the saftey stuff in this thread...

research would have show the USDM tranny to be better suited for track use (with modifications) than other ones.

Here is a little FYI about the gear ratio for everyone
JDM ITR: US ITR:
1st 3.230 1st 3.230
2nd 2.105 2nd 2.105
3rd 1.458 3rd 1.458
4th 1.034 4th 1.107
5th 0.787 5th 0.848
Final Drive 4.785 Final Drive 4.400

I'm curious though why you would want that tranny with the less aggressive 4th and 5th gears. Oh and I stole the numbers from Katman's tranny guide page http://ff-squad.com/Bgears.htm
