my friends drives a 96 civic
the other day while it was running he pulled a spark plug wire out and put it up to a bolt on the head to check the spark..dont know why
anyway after he put it back in the car ran for about a minute then it died and it wont crank over anymore
and now the plugs arent getting spark.....any ideas?

 

Hmmmm, He might of fried his ignitor or coil.

Does it have spark in any of the other cylinders ?

If not then this can rule out the wires.

 

i seriously think he could have fried the guts (magneto) of the dizzy, i personally have fried one and replacing the coil and ignitor DID NOT fix it.

yeah i checked teh rotor and cap already

is it possible i blew the relay?if so how would i check that?

 

It sounds like it is probably the distributor. Check for power with a TEST LIGHT at the ignitor and magento. If it is hot the relay is good, the ignitor isnt firing.
