Hey All..

I got a 97 ITR Shifter and this weekend I tried to install it.

Well I took out the 99 SI Shifter and compared it to the 97 ITR Shifter and the bottom of the shifter is different (The part where the Bolt Goes through)

The ITR has a wide base and will not fit on the 99 SI Linkage.

So what do I do now?

My 99 Civic SI is pretty much stock, I thought it would fit...
but I Guess not..

Can I just get the shift rod from an ITR and hook it up to my tranny and make it work???

You can do 2 things...

1-get the shift rod from an ITR or GSR.
2-cut your ITR shifter where it's longer at the bottom, and use the base bushing off the 99Si shifter, so the bottom is the same size and bolts into the Si bar.

I thought about cutting it also..

I think I rather just get the ITR Shift linkage.

But question is ..

the shift linkage is made up of 2 rods..

Can I just get the lower rod? *the one that connects to the base of the shifter?
and just use my top shift linkage rod??

You just need the one that the shifter bolts to. The stabilizer rod is the same.
