Two Probs, One Thread...
First off, neither problem is VITAL to the car's performance, they're just annoying.
#1 Whenever the car has been sitting for more than 4 or so hours, it takes a little while longer to start up (obviously) and it does a weird thing when I hit the gas. It acts like it's gonna stall! The revs drop to like 550-750 and then after a second,, they go right back up to where they should be for the amount of gas I am giving it. After about 5 or more times of doing this, it starts to go away. By the end of the block, it's back to normal. WTF?!
#2 Sometimes I think my pedal or even my throttle body or even the spring on the throttle body sticks! I'll be going along, enjoying my EF, and when I put the clutch in to stop at a light or something, the revs will stay at like 1500-2000! If I put my foot under the pedal and pull up on the pedal it will stop, or if I hit the pedal hard and let it snap back it will stop and revs drop to normal idle. I've noticed this happens alot more often if I drive somewhere and go inside, and then come back out and drive again. It's so much after the second startup. WTF?!

For #2, check the throttle cable and plate for stickiness, my car did that on the A6 manifold, when I switched to my Z6 mani it went away.
The first issue I'm not sure about. It almost sounds like a timing issue, but it goes away... weird. What's your setup?

91 Std. Hatch with SOHC ZC swap. (stock motor.)
I am using the Std. throttle cable so it's a little long. Takes a loop then reaches the TB.

Do you think I should use some TB cleaner and scrub the plate and inside of the TB?

Throttle body cleaner?! Didn't know that existed. I would just take the TB off and clean it, better yet go find a Z6 or Y8 manifold and use a teg TB.
I usually use a parts washer to clean my stuff, I think there's kerosene or something in there. If I'm not at the shop I use carb cleaner. I don't know if the cable is making a difference, but you might want to just go get the right cable.

#1. do you let the fuel pump prime when you start your car?
to do this, you need to turn your key so your car see's power, and your dash lights and check engine light will come on. you wait until the lights turn off and then turn your car over. if you dont wait for the pump to prime, your car may seem like its having a hard time starting, but really its just that your fuel pump is not getting the fuel pressure up high enough so the injectors can inject enough fuel. so your car will run like **** for a few seconds until the fuel pressure is high enough.
