Ok so i just had my d16z6 motor rebuilt i had a turbo on it prior and after the rebuild. Reason for rebuild was a spun rod bearing. I've put maybe 1200 miles on the new motor with the turbo at 5 1/2lbs its running fmu kind of small im hearing a knocking noise coming from the bottom end wondering if its maybe as simple as exhaust but not likely please help!!!!

 

alot of time when you spin a bearing you take the crank out-of-round. so if you reuseded the old crank you might of messed up. another possiblity is during assembly someone messed up.

 

sounds like you reused the rod bolts. if you were boosting should use arp bots and use a streach guage. i take it the you had a machine shop regrind the crank. so id say rod bolts. there very critical in how htey are TQed as well. best is to upgrade and use streach guage, also you should not reuse the main bearing bolts or head bolts.

 

this happend to me i had to replace rods and crank
