Default How high a mileage do you have on a built engine?

This thread is meant to help others who want to build up their motors but are weighing the pros and cons. Its also posted in the all motor forum. A build to me would mean either a mild set-up like having stage 1 cams and stock valvetrain or to having a higher comp motor(12:1) with aggressive cams etc. I've heard of horror stories about stroker motors getting wrecked affter 10k miles. So get the picture? Hopefully this database can help others.

My build isL

JDM ITR
CTR pistons, Jun 3 cam, Jun springs & ti retainers, chrome ems, 5zigen header, new crank bearings
no mileage yet bec its still in the shop!

Just clicked past 10k on my 2.0L, compression perfect on all 4, daily trips to 9500rpms+, has never smoked or burnt oil.

12.3:1 85x87.2 Benson sleeved
CP pistons, Eagle Rods
Benson micropolished/balanced crank
Supertech valves and valvetrain
Comptech Race Header
ATS 4.9 FD
Bunch of other crap...226whp/150tq on a dynojet

Breaking in the motor correctly and having a good basemap and tuner is essential if you want a build to last.

BTW, what cams and valve train do you use? Looks like my tuner will do a dyno break-in! Hmmmmm?

I've used ITR cams, Buddy Club spec-5 cams, and I'm currently testing Skunk2 Pro-2 cams. I have SuperTech Stainless Steel Valves, valvesprings, and ti-retainers.
