Yeah, other EF keys work sometimes. Or if you have a copy of your paperwork somewhere you can prolly take it to honda and get a copy made.

nope, my red CRX, my current CRX, my brothers old 88 CRX (he had 2) and my others old 91 4door all did the same thing. You can't hold the drivers door open, flip the lock and shut it locked. When it shuts, it does not lock, you have to stick the key in and lock it from the outside. Drivers door only, not the passenger door.

You know what, in all the cars (Civics/CRX's) I've owned/built/worked on...I've never tried that, never thought twice about it, I just lock it with the key....it just seems pointless if you're getting out the car anyway. lol @ myself (goes outside to play with the door lock )

My car wont lock if I try to just lock it and shut it either...I figured it was just a faulty switch flipper, but the key works fine

edit: and ive tried pulling the handle while trying to lock aswell it just wont go for me the thing wont go into the lock position at all

yea most honda keys are interchangable. i have a 91 ef and my keys works in my friends 95 civic hatch. and a friend has a 93 coupe. all are keys work for each others car. all are cars are red, maybe that has something to do with it

I'll back up the multiple key argument. Going around a scrap yard with my friend's EF key unlocked 8 out of the 12 or so EF's I found.

Try a similar Honda key.

My friends key to his 96 civic would unlock and start my 91 hatch. When he first tryed it, he was joking and he stuck in the key and the car started, i was like wtf.

you can use a license plate to get your civic unlocked. Jam it between you molding and window above the lock.
