good morning ladies and gents, i have a 95 coupe with a jdm b16. It has never given me any problems at all but all of the sudden yesterday the temperature needle starting rising and lucky me i was parking already. Im thinking that it might be the thermostat because i live in jersey and it has been so hot here. I dont think that the fan is turning on...anybody has any ideas? thank you for your time...

 

change your thremostat or check the rad. cap.....it could be the thermostat has gone out (most likely) and you just need to change like hoses, thermostat, rad. cap....all the little cooling system parts that go bad, depending on the miles of your motor...I mean you could have cracked the radiator if your car is slammed and you drove into something....does this happen constantly now or has it only happened once?

 

nah this is the first time it has happen, i checked the radiator and no cracks at all..

 

and the motor has about 60,000 miles on it

 

check your coolant level....take the radiator cap off first and start the car, slowly pour water in until it fills up and wait for it to slowly warm up, it should take water in if it is low and if it does you could have just lost coolant some how, continue to fill it til the car warms all the way up and the water is sitting just below where the cap seals, put the cap on and see if it continues to overheat, if it does..check the thermostat

i doubt very much is that it could be a head gasket issue, i dont see no bubbles at all in the reservoir....
