Default tranny help

i have a jdm d15b and was wondering how well a d15b8 (cx) tranny would run on it even with the longer gears... just untill i can get an si tranny or whatnot. thanks

also how well wil it run with the cx tranny it i droped the vtec about 5-600 rpms? just a thought

Like ****. it has extremly long gears. that tranny was designed and geard for fuel economy not performance. So unless you really need a tranny and you dont care about performance. and its free then bolt it up and go.

speaking from experience, it sucks! I had my old CX engine and tranny laying around after swapping my d16z6, and I swapped trannys to change my ISB, and drove it like that for a week. DAMN, it sucked. It will be fine thought if you are just using it as a temporary thing. Gas mileage

2nd gear feels like 3rd should, and 3rd gear feels like 5th should. 4th gear feels like a 7th should, and 5th gear feels like a 9th gear would feel like.
