HELP! Frying ICMs
I bought a 93 4WS lude with a blown motor and replaced it with another H23 (was low budget at the time). I got the motor in the car, hooked everything up, turn the key and no spark. Check everything to find out that the ICM is no good, no problem I have another one. Put it in car, crank, no start, ICM blown again! Test the ECU by putting it in my Accord starts right up, can't be the problem. Swap the accord distributor into the prelude and fry another ICM. I did check for continuity in the ICM and there were no problems there. The ICM only blows when the car cranks not with the ignition on. I need help from anyone on were to look for this problem but most of all i need to know how i can test what is going on so that i dont have to blow an $85 ICM every time i want to test to see if i solved the problem. Please guys i have had this car for two years (no time to work on it between school and work until now) and i am dying to drive it.
