so i'm drivin along and then....
ok so i was drivin home from pickin the girlfriend up at class and my car just up and dies. so i was like ok maybe i stalled it, so i started it up again and went to let out the clutch and give it some gas and it dies again. so i thought i was out of gas. nope 3/4 of a tank. i am so pissed at that piece of crap lately i've dumped like 1k into it for parts that shouldn't have needed to be replaced but kept it from running now this. i'm thinking of sinking it in the sound...if anyone wants to help let me know, i'll probably need it.
anyone have any suggestions on fixing it or is it even worth it? it's a 96 gsr with a ls engine (long story) the engine has under 100k and we've replaced a couple injectors, all seals on the fuel rail, distributor, wires, and plugs.

Does it crank over and try to start but then die immediately? If so, it's most likely the same problem I had just a couple of months ago, the ignition switch harness. Mine just up and fried out of the blue, no warning. $35 for a new switch and harness, $25 for overnight shipping, swap 'em out (ignition switch is held in by 2 bolts, and 2 plugs go to the fusebox) and it was up and running again. Despite all the hassle it caused me having to get it towed and borrowing an old@$$ truck over the weekend, it was a very simple and relatively inexpensive fix.
In my case, anything powered in the ACC position on the ignition switch would work (radio, lights, etc). However everything on the IG position did not work (windows, wipers, sunroof, etc.). That's what clued me in as to it being an ignition switch problem.
Unplug the 2 connectors going from the ignition switch to the fuse panel under the dash. Take a multimeter and with the key in the ACC position (first notch from off) test for continuity between the White/Black wire and the White wire. Then turn the key to the second position (IG or Run) and check between the White/Black and White wire, the White/Black and Black/Yellow wire, and the White/Black and Yellow wire. If any of those fail, it's definitely the harness.

it'll fire and idle and if you either wait long enough or try to gas it at all it'll die. you can let it cool down a little then it'll fire right up and work for a little while. by the way the guy that did the engine replacement did a very crappy job. not that taht means anything, just a note.

ah nevermind it's not the ignition switch harness then.

we thought so too...but the thing is that the car runs perfectly for like 5-10 seconds then dies when more fuel is needed. i'm curious about that Map Sensor...can someone enlighten me on what it does or what it could be not doing?
thanks for the support 95LssTeg...i'll hit you up if you wanna join in. and arsenal, pumps don't really just slowly die, they kinda either work or don't. so that would be one of my last guesses, but we're gonna check it out too.
I'm guessing Main Relay. When you turn the ingnition into the ON position do you hear the fuel pump prime the engine? If not, that may be it. Good luck!
Manifold Absolute Pressure monitors air flow, rpm, and ignition timing. fuel pump, or map(if guy is right about ignition timing retardation)?
ok well i checked the map sensor and that isn't it, casue it's plugged in and when i unplug it when the engine is running it runs crappy and the check engine light comes on...and normally that's not what happens. now about this main relay deal, what would that do and how would i check to see if that's the problem?
