What is Legal... ?! as well as smog
im new to the import game.. but i drive an 01 integra gsr i bought few months ago. its got 26k miles on it and drives like a dream (im in love) and it came with 5zigen 2.5 catback.. i think.. and im just curious what is legal regaurding motor setups for a beginner... meaning intake, exhaust i know it not cuz of noise.., headers and such. all ive done so far is put some coilovers on it but im contemplating how difficult it will be to pass smog if i decide to boost or stay all motor or whatever.. anyone want to fill me in for california laws and specifications... (and dont tell me about paying a smog guy to pass thatas not what im asking even fi i do that that) im just curious whats acceptable and whats not for fruit loop cops and smog.
wtf i say man i already read a bunch of stuff and i dont need no one saying that man.. im trying to get some specifics for my stock *** gsr ... if you dont got anything productive to say just synical bs of thius thread dont post foo im sure you have better things to worry about than take the time making my posts harder than they are... supposed to hook other teg fans up man.. arent you trying to see as many clean *** tegs **** man give a brother some love or no love ****

Or you can replace the carb stickers from a DC header and tack weld it on something custom. It will pass visual but depending on your setup you might not pass smog. Living in Cali you need the CARB sticker it is very important for not getting reffed. Find a smog hookup and stick to SMOG legal parts.

I just smogged my GSR and it barely passed.... I have either OEM upgrades or aftermarket upgrades with carb numbers on each. Intake, Intake manifold, CTR cams, header, exhaust. If cops want to be a dick, they can ticket you for any modification done to your car. I remember reading in the CA law book that any modification done to your exhaust system that enhances the tone is illegal. Tone must be kept at xxx decibles or below. If you plan on turbo'ing your car, and you want to keep it legal, then get a greddy kit. Greddy products are known for being CA state legal.

i had a greddy turbo and it didnt pass smog and i got two ref tickets. doesnt matter if you have CARB stickers and/or legal **** cops in Socal are cracking down on modified cars and most likely they'll just send you to the state ref. i've learned my lesson after 2 ref. tickets keep it stock and drive it.
