My Z6 takes 3.4, so don't be telling this guy to overfill it. Start with 3ish quarts, run the engine for 10 seconds or so, turn it off and check the level. Add more accordingly.

3.4 straight from being a professional mechanic with the engine in question
Putting 3.8 quarts in there won't hurt anything, especially since I think he has a Y8 and not a Z6, but it's always better to start with less and add more than deal with an overfull crankcase

My D16A6 takes 3.7 quarts with a filter change, staight out of the 1991 Honda CRX Owner's Manual and the Helms FSM. I doubt the Z6/Y8 takes less.
Besides, the exact number isn't important - what is important is that the oil level in the sump is at the top hole on the dipstick, not above or below.

i never know how much oil a car takes.. what i do...... get 6cans of oil fill up the filter depending on th instal angle how much you can add with out it all pouring out when instaling
then fill up the oil to the dip sticks oil line........ start the motor up for a min, turn it off and continue to fill it to the oil line. always worked for me :D

My '92 Civic Helm manual is showing the exact same specifications as in that picture. What manual are you getting 3.8 from?
