del Crashed
I got into an accident last night, thankfully no one got hurt. Not even a scratch.
Regardless of what really happened, by law it's my fault so I'm not going to bitch or talk about it. This is not a write off, I will not let her RIP, I will get her fixed back to new, problem is I don't know when I'll have the funds.
From what I can tell it will need chassis work (check pics 5 & 6), no mechanical damage other than the dented radiator. Wheels are aligned and suspension seems ok as well.
**** Update - Sat. June 24th 2006 ****
* Operation : Lazarus, as I like to call it has begun. I went around shopping for prices and contemplating how I should go about it. Most estimates were between 3000 and 4000 euro - which includes parts, realignment of the chassis, and a complete fresh paint job. An old colleuge of mine got me a hook up and gave me an estimate of 1900 euro complete.
* I've been looking into doing some DIY work to reduce the price somewhat, but by no means am I going to try to paint it myself. I would really appreciate any advice on how I can prep the car to be painted. I was considering stripping the paint and sanding it down myself. Any help on this is much appreciated as I have never done this before.
* I've never really had any real hands on expirience taking apart the car, so any tips to safely remove the tail lights is greatly appreciated + anything else I should know.
* Any del Sol owners who have painted their cars, what was done about the rubber moldings which hold out the water?
* New bumper has been ordered and I'm expecting it from L.A. in about 6 weeks. I'm in no hurry, heh!
Thanks in advance! H-T ftw!

Before I post the damage, if you're going to be an *** please keep it to yourself.
1) Ouch.

2) It scratched the door as well.

3) JDM Gonzo bumper

4) 4x4 suck! Bumper kinda survived as did the aux. light

5) inner fender wall bent...
6) what really worries me are those wrinkles... that's gonna cost alot Fasho.

7) JDM Gonzo bumper installed so my ITB's can get air... lol!

The only positive thing is I can get aftermarket cosmetic parts which I've wanted, for cheaper than OEM (keep in mind I live in Greece, parts are expensive here). The negative is I'm not rich so I'll be without my sol for a long time
I'd like to thank my bros from H-T's best del sol thread who have offered some parts to help out and making pain easier to bare with. You guys are real friends

Finding replacement parts is easy, it's the chassis I'm worried about - see pic 6.
if I get away with fixing that at a reasonable price, the rest will come

Those always wrinkle, my car has never been wrecked and they are wrinkled, it is just a skin that goes over the actual frame, a few hard launches at the track has caused mine to wrinkle.
Two scenarios here:
Just the skin is wrinkled, in which case it doesn't really matter since that can be left alone with no problem.
-or-
The core support or passenger side chassis rail are bent to **** and will need to be straightened. When I wrecked the first time, I had to pay about $2,600 to replace the core support and have the frame put on the rack and straightened to OEM specs. Shop did good work though, as you can tell by my wrecking again and having it hold up.
My suggestion is to find a good frame/body shop to check it out, since it's better to be safe than sorry.
If only you were closer. I will have an OEM hood once I finally make it out to Jimmy's to get his CF hood

How can check this out for myself before having it looked by anyone? I don't trust anyone here who does bodywork.

for positive thinking. its hard to not be frustrated or mad from stuff like this, but that's a good way to look at the bright side.
