a/c help!?

Default a/c help!?

My 92 vx has a leak in the small hose in the front. i think i need to change the O ring in it cuz that is where it seemed to go wrong. where do i start, do i need to evacuate it? what about the R-12 charge? HELP! im in texas and its summer and its HOT!!

what ever you do, don't just take a filler hose with no can attached, put it on the low pressure side, empty it into the atmosphere, change the ring and refill the system, cuz thats illegal

the condencer looks fine. im 99.9% its the O ring in side but i still don't know

Unless you disconnected the compressor hoses then the o-ring is probably okay.

that isn't really true, if it isn't used for a long time the seals can dry up a little, thats why you should run it in the off season once and awhile

True but I would be anything his car isnt as big of pos as mine and when I took my lines off I just left the old ones on lol.

i just got the car earlier this year and the a/c always made wierd noises in different rpms. from the clues and left over "juices" from the a/c it looks like a seal leak where the o ring is

Drain it or have it drained then disco the lines and replace the o-rings. It is illegal to drain it into the air fyi I personally dont give a **** how you do it.

ok a shop said they would do it all for 130 or if i did it myself they would do the charge for 60. does that sound good? i gotta wait til my next check tho.

honestly if you don't know much about ac, i'd let em do it, an extra 70 isn't bad, but if you're confident you know what you're doing, save yourself 70 bucks
