well 1st u r completely retarted. if u litterally mean 3 sec., yes u r lucky and it SHOULD be allright PROVIDED u just drained the oil and it was a heavier weight. like say a 10w30.

if the car died b4 u shut it off u may be screwed

i have seen people do this b4 and there b-series have survived.

it might have been more then 3 second. i dint count cuz i wasnt thinking. but as soon as the light came on, i instantly shut it off. i hope im in the clear. what could come from this?
it didnt die. i shut it off. and for the record, it was a long hard day, i was anxious and angrey and didnt think. i had a small leka in the oil return, so i drained the oil to patch the leak. im sure then was some oil in the car. but as soon as the light came on, i shut it off

liek i said, there was oil in it, i started it up and everyhitng was cool and so forth. i drained it real quick to fix the leak and a few minutes later i started it up. but AS SOON as the light came on which couldnt have been more then liek 3-4 seconds after i started it, i shut it off. for the record, the motor has liek 25,000 on it, so its in great condition, let hope it stays like that

basically the first thing to go in that case should be the rod and main bearings.

But ur probably fine, put oil in the car and stop worrying. A guy i knew didnt put oil in, drove around the block, it started knocking, relized he didnt put oil in, dumb *** drove home and put the oil in, car still runs fine to this day

double check your bearings....if you have a gauge....check the pressure...other then that..you should be fine....

freind of mine did the same thing...forgot oil on his new build...started it up for a minute or so to relize he forgot oil...

motor was fine...but double check! you never know...

install an oil pressure gauge

any drop or low oil pressure is a sign the bearings are bad

i didnt care the motor was getting swapped out anyways. point being you can run the car without oil pressure without really damaging anything, granted that doesnt happen everytime.
