Default dynamat alternatives? (searched)

I tried and look for dynamat alternatives and came up with nothing. Does anyone know of anything else? A co worker of mine told me about this roofing stuff that is suppost to be the same thing, is this true? Dynamat is expensive and the rear of the car hums/rattles because ofthe road. I would like to have a quiet car and not be destracted by the road itself. Any help would be appreciated.

have any of you tried there products with sucess? and have you used the peel and seel stuff also?

My co worker said it was called "quick roofing" or something. So I don't know. I want an affortable yet effective product if i can get that.

That rammat stuff looks pretty good but i don't think i can afford 120 for 63 sqft of this stuff. I gotta save up money first i guess haha. let me know guys.

i would very highly recommend SecondSkin Damplifier (or Damplifier Pro) as well as Raammat BXT60. if you cannot afford either, then you may want to consider brown bread or b-quiet.

peel and seal sucks. Been there done that. You pay more in the end because its not as effective and it doesn't stick well. You cannot easily mold it in grooves because it'll want to be straight.

Raammat and SecondSkin gets my vote.

so.. is the raammat stuff better than dynamat, or what? Is dynamat like the gold standard of deadening material?

It depends. Dynamat is intended to fill in the hollow points in trunka and doors. What I did to my teg was dynamat the entire floor board and I added some extra padding. So I used 2 layers of the padding from the stock carpet. It worked for me. Yeah it was a F**KING B**CH to reinstall the carpet but it was worth all the frustration.

not really, it's intent is to add mass to your panels to keep them from vibrating...

I wouldn't trust the peel'n'seal crap. My guess is it would make your car smell like tar. I got the 63sq/ft box of raamat and was able to do the the whole interior of my hatch and still have some left over. It doesn't smell and works as good, maybe better than the dynamat I had used in previous installs.

Raammat only sells roll of 62.5sq ft.

Second skin will sell you 20, 40, etc sq feet.

If you're going to do your trunk, 20sq ft might be enough for you.

you will get the most out of the whatever it is you are using if you apply it to the actual floor/walls of the car correct? Is there anyway you can have it removable and put it back in when you want too?

whatever you do just please do not use tar based roofiing stuff if you live where it's really sunny and hot... i know from experience if you plan on keeping your car for more than 2 or 3 years, the stuff isnt made to be stuck inside of a car and will peel off and degrade over time and stink up your ride
