Hey guys. I got crane HI-6 amplifier and PS92 coil. My friend installed it and ever since, ive been having hell with it. I wish i was still stock. Well, so far, my coil wire fried and just today, my distributer cap fried where the coil wire connects to it. Tomorrow, im going to change out my old spark plug wires and spark plugs. Does anyone know the reason for all this frying? I'm also thinking of rerouting the wires to make sure they don't ground.
throw that carne $hit on the tack and get MSD you will love it
something must be wired wrong go back and doubble check it all that shouldnt be happing i maybe something small like the wrong wire in the wrong place

i had a similar problem
but after putting that MSD capacitor inline with the power supplying the box it went away...damn MSD techs are wonderful
i got tired of pushing my car home

Well, IMO the stock ignition is GREAT and an aftermarket one is NOT needed. If you look around, alot of VERY fast cars use stock ignition. Especially, if you are NA, I'd say to stick with stock.

Hey 555R, what MSD capacitor are you talking about? I think i need one too. Skateboarding to school sucks.
MSD has a capacitor that you run inline with the power line to the box
i have to find you the p/n
IMO ignitions to tend to fall off at high rpms where my car is alot of the time
its a track car but then again i use the functions of the digital 6 also
i also feel it runs much better aside from a shorter life span of the cap and rotor
the digi 6 and hvc coil has a pretty serious output
dont get zapped

My friends and I have had nothing but problems with crane boxes. MSD, no problems.
me and my freind had no problems with crane ignition coils.......never tried the ignition boxes yet but i see them on some craxy high RPM high boost turbo drag cars.......when i ask why they chose cran over MSD they all say that the multiple spark discahrge that MSD ignition produces cant keep up with the high rpm requirements that their engine needs.........plus certain crane ignition systems put out more power/voltage than some MSD systems.
