So, I wake up this morning to a phone call from the Washington County Sheriff... After figuring out that I had'nt done anything wrong lately, and waking up slightly, the guy tells me that my 2000 Honda Civic Si or SiR (his words LoL) which was reportd stolen November 25th, 2005... Has been recovered.
Progressive Insurance already totalled the car, payed me off, and is now the official title holder of the vehicle, so the only reason the cops called me is to ask if I wanted to go see it. Of course, I can't kook away from a train wreck, am overcome with curiosity, and drive out to the impound lot to see the shell of my former FBP. It was wierd, just really, *******... Wierd. For me to see her in this condition, versus the last time I laid eyes upon her shiney pearl skin, smooth lines, and little sublties that made her mine. Not to mention the personal attachment felt by anyone who works on their own car, and cares for it like a girlfriend or some ****... It all came back to me at once.
I had come to terms with the idea of never seeing her again at all, let alone in her prime.
Take a look at the pics, it does'nt really look that bad at first. It's not completely stripped, most of the visible body parts are still there even, but no one is going to re-build this one. No sir.

And one for the haters!!!
These thieves seem a little wierd to me, honestly.
They left a fair amount of salvage-albe (sp?) parts, and they sat on this shell for 6 months before ditching it... Just makes you wonder, what kind of ******* plots out and does ******* **** like this? My baby is fucked beyond repair, and she is scheduled to become a doorstop on Friday.

Here is what she looked like in her prime.

These pics are all more than 9 months old, and were taken on a crappy 5mp digi point and shoot. Unfortunately, they are the best pix I have to remember her by.

This is a sad day. *Pours one out for Charolette.*
PS: If you have any information about my car or its parts... Go FAH-Q yourself. And pray I never find out about it.
Nate

if you secured your car and keep an eye on it it will never get stolen...
all you need is not to park it in publick places and etc.
good alarm, garage and some anti theft stuff can help you in most of the time.
but if you dont do it

Partly true. But if they want it bad enough, the ywill find a way to get it. Don't get overly secure.
The shell is actually in bad shape, no one should re-build this one... Again. Its been totalled and re-built twice, once shady off the records status...
The floor, both QPs and the crossmember have all been replaced, and there is a lot of rust, probably from sitting stripped for 6 months...

I had a Clifford Alarm system, autolock on the clutch pedal, steering wheel lock, re-routed the hood cable, wheel locks, and always parked in my garage. I was just too weary taking it anywhere. I finally just got so annoyed that I ended up trading her in.

Actually, my insureance already totalled it and paid me off... So I'm no longer the title holder.
I plan on trading my current ride to my sister for her milano red 2000 2dr EX, clean title, low miles, nice starting point...

That sucks bad...
At least you got to say goodbye to her.
It seems like I have been hearing about a lot of Honda thefts in the Portland area lately. Did they catch the people who stole it?
