Default Dumb question? Wiring for two amps...

I have two amps. 400 RMS and 600 RMS. Would it be best to connect these to the battery with two seperate 4 guage power wires and two separate fuses? Or should I use a terminal to join them and then one big *** fuse?

It should be enough to run one 4 gauge wire from the battery, and then use a distribution block to connect the 2 amps. It would be a good idea to put a fuse on the wire between each amp and the distribution block. But if the amps have built-in fuses, then one fuse by the battery would be enough.

The fused are there to protect the power cable not the amp, and a proper distrobution block for power will have fuse holders in them, although I am no fan of distrobution blocks, if you want to use one run a 2ga cable to it with a 225A MAX waffer, [anl] fuse and then a 4ga to the 600W and an 8ga to the 400W from the dist. box and again up to 150A for the 4ga and 100A for the 8ga in the dist. block. 94

Good info. My battery's actually in the trunk so power lines will be super short. Thanks for the help.
