Well since my boy Rubens Barrichello is driving one this year, I guess I had to drive one sometime, too:

This is me in Ian Baker's CSP CRX at last weekend's Peru National Tour. I think this is on my second run Saturday about to start a tank-slapper through the slalom. Oddly, this being my crappiest run the whole weekend, it was the only run I had that was clean.
On raw time, I was twenty-nine thousands faster than Ian (4 thousands on Saturday, 25 thousands on Sunday) and would've ended up in third if I was clean. Instead, I was DFL.
(I did win SM2 with it a couple weeks before at a local event, much to the chagrin of a Porsche owner.)
The car is an absolute blast to drive. 225 Hoosiers, 1700 pounds, Quaife ... yummy. Looks like crap, goes like stink.
All the other CSP'ers walked away scratching their heads when looking at Ian's ghetto-fabulous engineering underneath the hood.
The courses were really good with a lot of sections where you could be flat out but still holding your breath while doing it.
i.e., not just point and shoot in a straight line.
Unfortunately, I never knew anybody who owned a Ferrari when RB was with his last team.

Sprite bottle going into PCV tubing for an oil catch can. Cardboard to cover a whole from the fender well (splash shield apparently ripped off during fun runs a few weeks ago, and we wanted to cover the hole so there wasn't a "performance advantage" of cool air hitting the air filter). K&N air filter was dark gray and crunched like an accordian. Engine bay just generally filthy compared to the other CSP cars.
Hood originally red so that's what you saw on the under side (exterior rattle-can black). Just general odds and ends. Ian would fit right in if he ever built a CP car!

How do you get a CRX down to 1700 lbs.?

I don't know. It's not my car. All I know is that it's an HF, no AC, no PS. It's probably closer to 1800 than 1700.

Yup, CSP CRXs are a blast. You sorta slam the go pedal, get it up to speed and hold your breath till the run is over. The Civic never never feels the same way the CRX i co-drove a couple years back did.

Obviously the driver aided weight transfer isn't helping, if you were 6'2" and two bills maybe it'd work better... you should just give me the car.
Pat I saw the results, nice going: A Mr. Cole Milstead called though, he said something about missing the cones if you were on street tires
*ducks*

Nice Raw times though, as the first time in Ian's car. (edit: second)

I see you've recovered from your lawn mowing "incident" to have enough motor skills to operate a keyboard.
