Another B20vtec...A few ?'s too.
Alright, this will be a very mild 'build', if you could even call it that. I work at Honda and can get a COMPLETE BRAND NEW B20b bottom-end, and a COMPLETE BRAND NEW B16a3 head (No dizzy, intake mani, or valve cover)
I want to get both of them to do a solid DD motor. The mods I want to do to them are:
1) Block guard
2) ARP head studs
3) Skunk2 IM
4) CTR/ITR/stage1 cams
5) Buddy Club cam gears
Then get it tuned on Chrome by RLZ.
This will be my first 'hybrid' motor and my first NA motor. Ive been boosted a few times before and want something thats less of a hassle and very simple for my DD.
?'s...
1) Obviously the cams. What will work, what wont? I just want a little more power then the stock b16 cams if possible while still retaining the stock internals.
2) Longevity? I always see "how long did it last" comment when it comes to b20vtec builds on stock sleeves. Being a brand new motor used for mostly DD, is this somethign that will be able to keep a couple of years under its belt?
Any and all help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
