Default 95 auto tranny not shifting

Today i was driving and my transmission was messing up. It will not shift into gear and all is does is rev when trying to go up hill. It doesn't accelerate it just starts to rev. But when you turn the car off and turn it back on it drives normally for a little bit. I don't know when the car has had a transmission flush because the car was handed down to me from my mom. Could i need a flush? Oh yeah the check engine light came on.

Definitely start out with an ATF flush and make sure to use the honda ATF-Z1

may be a stupid question.... but what is the difference in a "flush" and just changing your tranny fluid?

Draining and filling will only replace about 3 quarts. A flush replaces all 9 quarts.
I definately agree with S Carter for a start. If not then you may have a crapping TCU.

You can either drain and fill it three times while driving it a little after re filling it.
or you can have it hooked to a flush machine and all 9 can be flushed at once (never put additives with the fluid).
But Honda reccomends the first one

same thing happend to me a few yrs back, clutch packets were gone and the filter/screen thing inside the tranny was clogged. i think the clog prohibited proper ATF pressures and caused the clutch packets get thrashed. the 2 yrs of nitrous i put through is most likely the cause of all that madness. i converted to a manual and havent looked back since...

werent you turbo'd?

wish i was trying to be tho. I might just garage the accord and whip the caddy for a while and save up and buy all my parts to convert my car to manual. gas is going to kill me but in the long i will be happier.
