in Motor Trend, or Car and Driver, that they said the CL Type S 6MT was the best FF car they'd ever driven. Hope they never drove the R!

in the US...yes but in Japan, dont you think that the Civic type R with less weight was a better handling car? And isnt the DC5 type R supposed to kill the DC2 on the track?

 

In the US, undoubtedly yes. Screw the "best handling car for under 30k" test. if an ITR had been in there, it would have won hands down. I've driven the CL-S, and it doesnt compare.

Do you mean the 6MT? Not saying The R does not out handle it,
just that the 6MT will smoke the Auto...LSD and all

yes, the one i drove was the 6 speed. It was very soft, tons of body roll, squat, and brake dive. speed wise, it was fine, not on the level with my ITR (I/H/E) but nice.

 

Don't forget some other ones that are very, very good FF car.

1. Nissan Sentra SE-R (the classic ones)
2. Mazda Protege MP3
3. Celica GT/S (new ones)
4. CRX (2 gen)

I'm sure I'm fogetting a few others... but, IMHO, ITR has the best overall package to do everything well. IMHO, the only other FF car that was best bang for the buck was the classic Sentra SE-R.

... last but not least, as much as FF is nice, there are so many FR and MR cars that would be very nice to own/drive.

 

the civic type R does weigh less, but it also has less power. Find some videos of the ctr vs itr for best motoring, the itr wins on the track.

All cars weren't stock but the ITR had full interior and very dialy driven worthy
The CW ITR came in 7th overall. and finished strong in almost every catorgory

 

that test was wack, how are you gonna compare a ITR to a ferrari, modded out supras, rx7s, or a damn tiburon with two motors and NAAAWWWS? a little odd if you ask me.

 

Naawwws ownz! That test was definitely whack... comparing FF, MR, FR, etc., etc., etc. factors.

Just compare the skidpad numbers to a ferrari or porsche.
