Having a Problem and Out of Ideas
when My car revs over 3 grand and I start comming on to it the tach bounces all around anywheres from 3 to 7.5 grand. And at the same time its doin that the car is jerky and hesitates , almost the feeling when your running out of gas. Its a 93 sr.
I tried changing the coil in it because a friends lude was doin the same thing and that was his problem. If anyone knows what is going on please let me know

could be Vehicle speed sensor has an intermittent failure. Does it do it every time? Just under full throttle? Any CEL codes?
Ignition prob would show at any engine speed.

hmmm... well if it was'nt for the tach i'd say it was just a clogged fuel filter or such.
So i'f you are say in cruise control (low-no throttle) it's normal?
Then floor it and it will do this?
All sounds like Fuel pressure or spark. possibly dizzy. how long since any of that was replaced?
If the distributor is going bad that could explain your tach problems too.

VSS only affects the speedo, not the tach.
The tach gets its signal from the distributor, so it's most likely something in there that is causing the hesitation and such (I couldn't tell you exactly what).

if your tach is jumping around everywhere and you've
already changed the coil, i would probably try
the ignition switch next.
that's the same symtoms I had when mine went out.

yeah somehow i read speedo... not sure what i was thinking.
maybe somehow moisture has gotten into the dizzy? or the ICM (in the distributor) is failing.
