Default actuators and alarm

has anyone ever installed actuators on their locks and hooked it up to an alarm so that the locks open and close as you arm and disarm? how difficult is this? i am thinking about doing this to my 91 crx si.

Pretty easy. You will just need to use relays to drive the actuators as the lock/unlock outputs from the alarm don't generally produce enough current to directly drive them.

if you get a dei alarm, most of them come with a 451m door lock device, if so it won't be hard to do, hardest part is mounting the actuator to work and still have enough room to put the door panel back on.

This is pretty common as I do 1-2 cars a week, including trunk poppers. Many alarms don't need relays like the high end DEIs or the Crime Guard 745i. The mid grade DEI's come with the 451 module which is a simple 3 wire hookup.

There are two bars inside your door that connect the latch to the lock switch and the door handle respectively. You mount the actuator with two screws somewhere inline with the lock bar, making sure that it clears the window mechanism and the door trim. A bar connects to the arm on the actuator and you clamp it to the door lock bar. Then you run two wires through the door to your alarm or keyless module. Some alarms will require you to ground another wire on the door lock harness ie the purple wire on DEI alarms and the 451 module.

It will also lock/unlock with the key on/off.
