Default B18c Turbo Choice for AutoX and some Drag

I did a search and really couldn't find the specifics I'm looking for. I'm trying to decide on what's the best turbo for AutoX and some Drag Racing; meaning I want the best response I can get without it running out of breath in the top end. I'm wanting around 250whp. And I don't have a butt load of money so please leave out gt turbos. I'm looking for a t3/t4. Please be specific on the specs of the turbo you recommend.

Here's my potential setup:
90 EF Hatch
Stock B18c Motor
JDM Y1 LSD Tranny
550cc Injectors
Walbro 255 lph Fuel Pump
3" Exhaust
LoveFab (or similar) Equal Length Mani
Tial 38mm Wastegate
TurboXS BOV
Crome Engine Management

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I'm going to run a Precision SC50 .48 a/r turbo on my GSR motor pretty soon here. It should spool pretty quickly, and hold the power to redline.

The GT28RS might spool a couple hundred RPMs sooner than the SC50 I recommended, but the SC50 is half the price

Where'd you get your SC50?

And like I said before, leave out the GT turbos. I'm not going to spend $900 on my turbo not to mention that the maintenance of a GT turbo is not worth the trouble.

I got it used for about ~$500 locally.

Hmmm... Yeah cuz I can't find them for under $800. I'm really looking to get a t3/t4 cuz I found a website that has tons of trims for under $500 and they are all Genuine Garrett.

Just get a brand new Garrett T3/T04e 50-trim .48 a/r or .63 a/r for $525-550 shipped depending on which dealer you go with. Same difference, but the Precision turbo has a ported compressor housing from the factory.

Interesting... I checked that out, I think I might want to go a little smaller, maybe a 46 trim...

In my opinion, you don't wanna go smaller than a T3/T04e 50-trim .48 a/r turbo on a GSR motor. With a full 3" downpipe & exhaust, it has an AWESOME powerband!

Yeah, I just looked at a compressor map (still learning to read those) and it looks like you're right... It has a 78% efficiency thoughout what would be the GSR's powerband. Thanks, I do believe I've made my choice...

i love my holset hx35....runs awesome w/ a 12cm housing...full boost around 4200rpm w/ a 3' open dp on a 1857cc motor....you could even run a 9cm housing and see better spool times....also these can be had well for under $300....

I've never heard of that brand turbo and full boost at 4200 rpms with a 3" open dp is not exactly what I'd call quick. I'm looking for something more around the 3k rpm range...

and if you dont consider 4200rpm quick...well hot dam....ill catch ya when i get some traction in 3rd

From what I've heard you have to run a small oil filter to the turbo for gt turbos because the ball bearings can get clogged really easy from the smallest thing causing the turbo to fail.

Yeah, I started thinking to myself and yeah, I'd never really be at 3k... Very good point. These hx turbos have gotten my attention. Where can I find them??
