It sounds like bad wiring to me. My friend had a jetta that did the same thing we re-wired it and the problem went away (I think there was a break in one of the wiers). Hope that helps.

Have you tried driving in reverse to see if that corrects it?

Just kidding. Sounds like a wiring problem to me, too.

how do we get the conclusion thats its wiring? there are no wires envolved in a rear disk conversion?

this might be a long shot in the dark.. but check all the bulbs and make sure none of them are burnt out.. i remeber a while ago i put some altezza lights on my old hatch and it did something similar cause i had the reverse light in the brake light spot.. i dont even remember if your systoms were the same as mine but it frustrated me like hell.. also your brake switch under the dash on the brake pedal could have just gone bad..

I had that problem in my old Lude, it was a loose wire near the e-brake. I just wiggled some wires and that fixed it.

definatly try that.. maybe you accidently loosened the wire that is in the ebrake when you put the new cables in for the ebrake..

also make sure you have enough brake fluid in the master cylinder cause if you dont the sensor will pick it up and do the same thing w/ the brake light..
