JDM Passenger side (USDM Driver side) Mirror - Convex?
anyone know if the jdm passenger side (left hand) mirror is convex? like our passenger side mirrors are convex ("objects in mirror are closer than they appear").
i just bought a JDM S2000 passenger side mirror that fits right in the USDM driver side mirror (for my s2000). helps with the blind spot.
just curious if anyone with a RHD CRX can confirm this. (not that i need help with a blindspot in a CRX, s2000 with the top up is a different story)

I know G0crxG0 was complaining about he couldn't see **** out of his pass side with JDM mirrors, so I would guess that they just switch. Put convex on the left, and standard on the right.
To answer your question...yes they are.
When I got my JDM power mirrors I had the same problem. As I did with the JDM Power folding mirrors. On the Power mirrors, I just use the JDM power mirror housing for the side in question, then swapped out the mirrors with my old USDM one, and finally I use the USDM base. Swapping of the bases was a bit of a bitch because of the springs...but in the end they worked great!
Now with the Power folding mirrors the housing and mirror part in the same task...however the base of the PFM is metal to support the extra weight. swapping the JDM base out for the USDM may work, but I wasn't going to try it.
All the people I know who have JDM mirrors suffer from your problem. You can get EDM powered mirrors, try what I did, or live with it.

yeah, i dont necessarily have a problem. i dont have any JDM mirrors, i was just asking.
but i would like some clarification. are you saying the mirror from a powered housing doesnt quite fit in a non-powered window? or it does, but with a bit of modification?
id be interested in finding a LEFT mirror that is convex that will fit my non powered USDM driver side mirror housing.

yeah they are, for the crx i know the there is no direct glass that you can swap in to make it work. Ive seen a couple threads where people complain about visability. There was a webpage with a dude using accord mirrors to make it work.
well not all japanese mirrors are powered. why wouldnt you just be able to get convex non powered left mirrors and put them in our US mirrors?
