Element HTers, a lil' help before buying please...
I'm looking at 03 & 04 Elements. Mainly the EX to get all the features.
I'm seeing DX models with higher miles listed for more money than the EX with lower miles. Why?...if you have ideas.
Real listed I'm checking out on Saturday;
DX's
'03 55k $17k
'03 30k $19k
EX's
'03 59k $19k
'03 21k $18k
'04 42k $21k
'04 20k $20k
All are stock except for one. It has some factory size aftermarket rims. Most of these range $3k-$5k over KBB and are not certified by the Honda and Acura dealers.
Every Civic and Accord I've bought has been fairly priced and I got a fair deal on. I can't see why such a difference for the Element.
BTW, I know absolutly nothing about the Element, so I could be missing something huge.
Any thought on why the prices are so different would be helpful.
And any other areas I should look into before buying would also be appriceted too.
Thnaks guys.

how much are you willing to spend? Cause that should be the key indicator, but you also need to think about mileage and stuff like that, and than after that look at the models. Cause you can always add onto the element. So find out what you want to spend, than go from there. Good luck on your choice
woah those prices seem kinda high. any other reason why you're going for the 03-04's? the 06's are going for about the same price.
LX MSRP is 17750, EX MSRP is 19625

I find it hard to believe you're getting those prices...
I just bought a new 06 EX P w/ auto trans for 21500, and that was ony a good deal. I could have done better but the dealer had the one I wanted and I wanted it that day.
They should be cheaper than that....wait until you get a better price or buy it new

Search from Google...
Honda of Fife (Fife, WA)
Acura of Fife (Fife, WA) <--- bought my current 92 Accord from them.
....both dealers are about 1-2 miles apart. Not owned by the same people. My advantage there is the county their in. I can save about $300-$500 on taxes there.

no check the kelley blue book. or even better if you have a credit union in your area go to there website. I don't know if you have to have an account with them, or your folks, but if you go onto there website they usually carry a section on deals for cars in your neighborhood. That's how my family and I do our shopping for cars. We usually get them about 4-5k cheaper than what the dealer is selling it at.
And because they advertise it at that price on the credit union website they have to give it to you at that price. You can't haggle it but there's really no need to. Good luck, with everything.

i got my 03 ex w/ 50k for $13,700 excellent cond. in so. cal. so i would do some shopping around. and i was shopping at a honda dealer and they wanted like 17,900 for a 03 with 50k because it was a certified honda with the extended warranty for 7 yrs from the date made so 2010 would be the end of that. like i said i paid 13.7 and bought an extended warranty from my credit union who i got the loan from and the warranty was 5 yr 50k mi for 755 bucks. so i paid 14,400 for the same thing honda wanted 17,900 for and im covered one more year than that car. and with my ext. warr. i can take it to the honda dealer to get worked on so its just as good as the honda warranty. so i would say shop around and dont be afraid of miles in the 50k range cuz these new honda motor are phenomenal and the maintenance is cake, they told me to bring it in every 5,000 for oil change not 3,000 and every 10k i do my services and the oil changes are cheaper than jiffy lube.
and at least in cali you pay tax on where you live not where you buy the car cuz i bought it in huntington beach and tax is 7.75 but i paid 8.25 cuz i live in long beach, but it might be diff in your state

I just went to a Honda dealer to check out the Fit, they only had one used, the guy could not pay for it and returned it, how much of a loser can you be honestly......, anyhow it was auto had cig burns on the seats and a bunch of miles....
I'm a Honda guy that has a 360hp WRX, and an integra, looking for a daily driver. After being insulted in the toyota/scion dealer, I went to Honda. Ended up buying a brand new 2005 Element, they still had one left 200 miles from a shitload of test drives I guess. Got it for 17k.............If you can find deals like that take it.....Ask dealers around you, they might still have one around.

mine wasn't OTD for 21,500...but it was over 1K below MSRP and less than 1K over invoice...
again, I bought mine same day and they had the exact one I wanted, so I was willing to spend a little more than having to wait somewhere else.

I was satisfied w/ the price...if I wasn't in a hurry at the time, I'd have tried to get at least another 500-750 off, or at least that in accessories.
I guess they were happy to get rid of an orange one, considering the other one they had at the time is still sitting there 5 months later
doesn't help that they have a vinyl "dealer package" along w/ DVD, roof racks and some other stuff already installed. Kind of stupid when you have a 20K car for 25 or 26K b/c of items not everyone may want.

i just got back from dick hannah honda in vancouver wa, since your in washington you might want to check them out, or atleast give them a call, i can give you my salesmens number, he can sell it for invoice, throw in 6 or 700 bucks of accesories(id take cash though) and i think a little under invoice, we talked alot about the element, fit(way backorderd) and accords soi dont rememebr all the little details about everything,
id consider buying a brand new one if i were you, you can get a brand new element for 1-3000 more than a used one with like 40k, same model

We paid 20,007 for our 2005 EX AWD Automatic NEW in March 2005, just when the 05's were coming out.
This does not include t/t/l, but everything else.

Just bought an 03 EX w/ 70K a couple weeks ago... $12,500. Had the same issue as you. All the used Elements I was finding (I live in So.Cal), were only $2-3k less than 05's. I finally found one though and bought it same day.
Good luck.
Good luck.
