why does my axels still spin when in gear?

Default why does my axels still spin when in gear?

just like the topic says.. can someone tell me what could be wrong? why does my new axels i put in still spin when i have the tranny in first gear? reminder i dont have no tranny fluid in the tranny yet? does that matter? please help me out.. thanks in advanced.

Did you mean while its not in gear ? Axles will spin even when the car is in Neutral

the car is in 1st gear and the axels still spin freely? thier supose to grab. but in neutral they will spin freely? what do u think could be wrong?

Are both wheels off the ground? If so, you can spin the wheel on either side. And the wheel on the opposite side will spin in the opposite direction.

yes both wheels are off the ground. umm if this helps the motor was just put in and the trany was all togeather and axels slid into the tranny. and the car is shut off.. and when put in 1st gear the wheels still spun? i thought when car was in gear it ddint spin? and in netural it would spin?

If you try and spin both at the same time then they wont spin. If you are only spinning one then it will spin but the opposite side will spin in the opposite direction. Have a friend help you spin the other side at the same time and it will turn the engine.

BTW it will do that when the wheels are off the ground. Set the car down if you want and put it if first and try and push the car forward and I garuntee you that it will try and turn the engine.
