I just wanted to know does the actual hatch itself from a '99-'00 hatchback fit on a '96 hatchback i want to switch mine so i can get the lock on it and the handle to open it w/o having to use the key

 

im pretty sure the hatch itself is the same

but cant u just add the handle with the lock on it

i wanna do this too

 

an alternative is to shave it anyways and add a trunk popper

The hatches are the same. None have the trunk pop. You have to get it custom installed.

 

they are the same you should have no problem installing a '99-'00 hatch onto to your '96-'98 hatch. But why do all that when you can just swap out the handle and lock.

i meant cant it be done if it can i bet i can so if i get the handle and the lock itself i can change it out
