Default Head gasket job Q's

I am in the works of doing a head gasket job on b18b1, the manual says for removing the head to take off the intake manifold, timeing, and alot of other stuff, I pulled the valve cover last night, if I remove the cams I can get to the head bolts, after pulling those, wont I be able to just rip the head off? Will i have to remove the valves? Also, I am not sure If I warped my head when I heated it up, but water leaks out between the block and the head, on the passanger side of the engine I see no traces of water in the oil even after I pulled the valve cover off and the compression seems fine when I start. thanks

You won't have to take the valves out to pull the head. Sounds like you need a new headgasket to me.
