Default SPEEDWORLD CHALLNGE + NASCAR & Infineon Raceway, June 23-25

http://www.infineonraceway.com....html
(it wont let me post the pic)

Wheres the best seats to view most of the race?

June 23-25
Fri: Practice
Sat: Speed Touring, Bluelizard 200
Sun: Speed GT, Nascar Nextel Cup

Tickets are about $40ish on Saturday, $95-$130 Sun

I'm thinking about going... anyone else? It seems like a good way to see more than 1 race series all in one shot...

Dennis,

do drop by to see us if you go. One word of warning if you have never been to NASCAR event. It is very crowded. Give yourself plenty of time to get in and out. Plan to leave early.

We will be paddocked in the infield. We will have to leave Sat after the race because the area will be used for fireworks.

I'm glad you're racing! I'll be visiting you guys for sure if I come out.

Any suggestions for best view/seating?

-Dennis

They are running NASCAR chute, so I'm not so sure. The main grand stand will be kind of cool since you will be able to see the pit stops.

turn 9 is a good spot. You can see most of the track and see down pit lane in front of the grandstands.

I'll be there for WC. Not sure about NASCAR though. My time might be better spent elsewhere on Sunday...

It is pretty damn good.. At least you can cheer for Boris, Fellows, and Pruett to kick everyone's ***.. That is if they can catch Stewart or Gordon

No, really, I have other crap I need to do in the area. I'm not dissing stock cars on the road course. Hell, that's their best race all year. Just not sure I can stay for the race on Sunday...

Overlooked something pretty important-

Wheres a good, inexpensive Motel to stay at? (Sam is a cheap date, so he doesn't need to be impressed with the Ritz or anything)

Crappy- Since it's a Nascar weekend I may already be royally screwed...

I can't seem to find any locations recommended by Infineon.

there are some places right off the 101 that are nice, but they all sell out in about a 1 hour drive to infenion for the NHRA drags so i'd imagine its similiar for NASCAR most likely worse.

look into santa rosa its a biggger city so they should still have some rooms some were.

Thanks for the info-

Yep- everything close is pretty sold out or 200+ a night for a Motel 6.

So, I decided to get a Quality Inn in Fairfield (23 miles away supposedly) for $100. Hope Mapquest was right about the distance...

Dennis, I might be too late. But look into Marin area too. Might be a little bit more expensive, but much closer to the city so there are more stuff to do if you decide to venture to the city. Maybe we all can hang out after the race in the city and have dinner with the crew.

I would think the NASCAR race on Sunday is still on schedule at 12:40

Yeah, no update anywhere. But we got the email directly from SCCA pro racing

Redstone Motors and friends/family will be there on Saturday to watch the Speed GT & WC race. We're also going to root for our fellow friend/racer Andrie.

Ill be watching from turn 9, which i think is the best over all view of the track.

Good luck andrie! A top 10 finish would be awesome!
