An intake is an intake. That is when comparing a brand like AEM to others. AEM has mastered the design in intakes and produces great numbers for a great price.

Spoons products are significantly better in other areas, but when comparing the two on intakes, there isnt much difference.

EDIT: To my knowledge AEM isnt carrying K&N air filters anymore...If this is true why not?

im not sure really apparently they have this new "dry flow" intake that doesnt need to be oiled... apparently the oil messes up sensors and crap.. dam OBD II lol i have to do more research on it.. but i do know from the ppl in the south the AEM CAI is *** cause of heat soak? im just debating what intake to get right now i have the original AEM CAI piping for the Type S from a buddy of mine and all i have to do is buy a filter for it... not sure which route i want to take....

How do you figure?? I know VW voided a lot of MAF warranties with people running a Cold Air intake with K&N filter and even drop in filters because they felt that people were over oiling them thus causing the MAF to fail.

AEM would definitely make more money if they produced the filters themselves instead of buying them from a big company like K&N
