Default sup new to this form

sup h-t pep's well i just bought a gsr shell with a jdm type r front end a couple of months ago....been reading alot of info on this site and have gain alot of information....well right now i don't have a motor and i'm looking for one i was able to hunt down a jdm gsr and a jdm itr motor for around 2,500 but for the jdm gsr i can go alittle lower....right now i can't decide which one to get.....i was wondering could u guys give some info about both engine which would be really helpful for me to make up my mind....wat i was plaining to do was go with the jdm gsr since i can get it for alot cheaper and just get a jdm itr tranny and a few mods like s2k manifold, intake,etc nothn major yet and i should be able to take out any jdm swap itr with no problem....if i'm wrong correct me plz but any infomation would be greatfull thx....o yeh i'll have some pix of my ride while i build it back up for u guys to enjoy aite late

na the motors are not stolen its from a shop in frisco....i knoe the owner and i ask him to lower the price foe me since i was on a budget....pretty much its just a one time deal for me ahaha....which would be a easyer smog pass the jdm gsr or the jdm itr any info would be great late

wow jdm type r jdm gsr .. but go with the R if it aint a type r then it aint a tyte car.. btw 2500? thats a ridiculous cheap price. you sure is that complete swap or just longblock?

2500$ for the longblock sounds right. I'd buy the jdm itr and then sell it and get some money out of it. I know people would pay far more for it.

well which one would be better in the long wrong the jdm gsr or the jdm itr....cuz i'm only using it foe daily driving and mybe some street races but thats it nothn more....any input would be great late

Like people have already said get the ITR, sell it, then buy the GSR and swap it in, and pocket the change. I don't see it going for that cheap unless it is hot.

both would be good for the long run. as long as you service it.oil, plugs, etc.

ok well if i'm gonna buy the motor might as well keep it for myself to run in my car i'm i right.....everything is legit nothn is stolen i just talked him into letting me get it for that much only a one time deal.....thx for all the input but i think i'll get the jdm gsr so just incase i decied to go SC or turbo i won't have to lower the compersion to be able to run boost.....but my next question is it possible to run the p72 usdm gsr ecu chip for the jdm gsr swap any info would be great thx...

Your still gonna need to lower the compression. It is 10.6:1 to high for boost. Safe boost anyway

its all in the tune. if you have a perfect tune that it would be safe. the lower compression gives you more room for error

Make sure not to voice your opinion too much it will lead to you getting negative points or possibly being banned. If you post anything about your car make sure it's a clone of another honda-tech car aka JDM. Oh #1 rule here is Honda's rule the world so never ever say anything bad about the "H". Oh yeah, and the Moderators are such ..."nice guys" also.

JDM I have a R motor for 1200.00 from a 01. I don't know if it's hot or not but if you need it holla at me. Got it from a friend of a friend.

This is why I'd listen to the guys who say to get the ITR motor, sell it and get a USDM GS-R motor.
