will dohc ecu run a sohc?
yes, it may throw a code due to the lack of knock-sensor. I ran a mugen ecu for dohc for like 3 months on my 94 ex. obd 2/ obd 1 is and issue, what year car and ecu?
duh i looked at your sig, make sure the ecu is 96 or 97.

i made myself an obdI conversion harness and to see if it worked i was going to use a friends obdI del sol vtec ecu to see if it worked with no codes instead of buying a p28. until i know that it works i wont buy one. but if it will throw a code anyway then there is no point in me using the dohc.
Just have somebody with a 92-95 civic ex come over and let you borrow his ecu for a few minutes to see if it works, 4 10mm bolts and 3 plugs and you'll find out if you saved yourself $250 or not.
yea i made mine for only $50. i dont know anyone with any 5th gen ex or si thats not already swapped. thats why i wanted to know whether the dohc one would work.
just to let everybody know, it worked. i let him use my p30 ECU. d16y8 revving to 8k was pretty fun. i wouldn't recommend that anybody rev their single cam to 8k on the regular or anything, but it was pretty cool to do like twice.
yep it worked for only $50! now i just need to get a stock p28 for it, so i can use the harness. it was fun to rev my car to 8k for the first and probably only time in its life.
