Default ** New Seats = New Carpet ? No Carpet?

So I am fabing some seat rails to get a pair of new seats into my 1995 LS and I can already tell that the new seats are gonna make the rest of the interior look its 11yr age ... and them some ...

Its originally gray cloth interior with black dash / doors ...

The new seats are fake black leather racing seats.Yonoka or something I think ..

I would say the dirty gray carpet is the biggest problem now .

considered just stripping it, but I want to keep my rear seat and trim and just losing the carpet wouldn't looks so clean I don't think .... more just like its missing.

And I have heard pretty bad reviews about the replacement carpet kits ...

Any suggestions? Got pics of your car with no carpet? Or with a carpet kit?

I love stripped interiors. But if you want the carpet, you can always clean it up...

Why not just remove the carpet you have now and clean it thoroughly? Or dye it if you don't like the color.

Hey Dan, you ever thought about putting some thin black weatherstripping around your door jams? Looks like those edges would cut you to pieces...

Interior is definitely hot though man

Hmmm ... IDK if it would come clean or not , its got some pretty deep lookin stains... got the car out of a junk yard, lol

I am thinkin of ditching the carpet as JDMDans car looks pretty good. I won't have a cage though so it will be pretty baren lookin ... maybe some nice floor mats

Dan - What did you do to eliminate your consol? Mine doesn't match and its a tight fit between the new seats ...

If this is your daily, i suggest carpet. It gets really annoying/loud when you are on the freeway and are trying to talk on the phone.

Well, its not my DD now but the plan is to drive it alot more eventually. And I am already planning to redo my exhaust to make it quieter so I guess I'll stick with carpet if I can.

Any carpet cleaning suggestions? I have the front seats out so cleaning it in the car should be possible .... looking to turn my brown carpet gray again

I had heard a lot of iffy complaints etc...I got mine on ebay from individual for like $80 or $90 shipped. you'll need to trim sides & cut alll holes for shifter etc... I used a soldering iron to burn holes for seat bolts (which will keep holes from tearing later) after using a small pick tool to located the holes underneath the carpet

fitment is fine...couple of areas in back (just below bench) were its not super tight but I could easily go back & fix that with some adhesive & make a few slits (underneath bench)

key is to make all cuts too small at first - in order to insure they aren't too big

all & all I was very happy with the way mine came out
