I have a 1993 Accord Coupe EX and when it's very hot outside my guage will go past normal almost to red. I pulled over and left the car running and checked to make sure my fan was running it was. I have replaced the thermostat with a Honda factory one and drained the raidiator fluid. Eventually the guage will go back down but sometimes when I sit in traffic it goes up towards red. Please Help.

 

turn on your heater on full blast. that should help cool it.

what did you fill it with after you drained the fluid?

 

Did you bleed the air out of the coolant system?

No, I didn't bleed the air out. Maybe thats it you think?

 

make sure that BOTH fans are coming on..especially the radiator fan ( passanger side )

 

Both fans are suspose to run when the engine gets hot? Only one is. the one next to the battery. I thought only one is and the other comes on when you run the AC

 

Do you know how to bleed the system? (let the air out)

 

I have never done it before but it's just like bleeding brakes right?

yep both fans are supposed to be on when engine gets hot ,,
and both fans are supposed to come on with the a/c on..
