Default Considering a GSR Integ...but Worried?

i am considering buying a 95-01 GSR...
i really want to buy a GSR integ...but i am worried about security.
i live in mount vernon NY which is right around the corner from the bronx.
the neiborhood where i rest my head is not a bad neighborhood at all.. and i have a garage and all..

but thats not my worries... this will be a DD and which i will be driving to lehman college (deep in the bronx) daily for school... the bronx has a HUGE import scene.
andi f i gett his car, i most likely will be dropping and adding rims to it...which will add to the attraction..
my question is, how bad is integs being stolen in NYC?
i will be gettin many layers of security, but i dont want to have to live worrying about my car wheni m in class, att he movies, etc.... how bad is car theft??

and ive herd about this autolock thing... wherei t locks your shifter... how good is it?

this is sad, where u cant even enjoy your car cuz youre worriedt hat it will get stolen

Since you are driving and parking it in a suspicious spot, I wouldn't consider it as a daily driver.

If they are going to steal your car, they will. A kill switch, pager alarm, and a bunch of locking stuff doesn't prevent them from sticking it on a flatbed and driving off with it.

man, just get full coverage on your insurance, keep receipts for everything you buy, and just drive it. it's just a car.

Lojack, and early detection system so it will page you when the car is started without the keys.
I am looking into this system.

Lehman College is a good school. I heard they got good security, just park it in plain view. I would be more worried going to the movies, or the mall. It doesnt matter if you go to like a Beverly Hills mall or a mall in the Bronx. If they want it, and if its easy enough to steal, they'll get it.

Its really hard to say. But get your security before anything else.
*** the drop, *** the rims, get your security straight.

your best bet is to buy the gsr...and leave it in the garage...and spend couple extra hundred on a beater car(doesnt have to look nice)

if you are super worried about a gsr getting stolen.. have u considered ripping off the dohc vtec sticker on the back? that's the only way to tell a gsr from a ls/se. it seems like there are 10x more stolen gsr's than ls's.
just my .02c

That, and get a trunk monkey.

Or, remove all the GSR/Vtec badging on the car. Put a dent in the fender. Or dont buy it.

the ones we use have replaceable battery packs... i dont think you can charge them... and they can last for years cause the battery drain is like sooper low... like millivolts low.. thats really low...

if you don't want to constantly worry about the gsr, you should consider something else, maybe wrx, or rsx type-s

lol, yeah, they're WAYY less conspicuous than a car that's at least 5 years old. get the damn gs-r, and make enough money stomping mustangs in street races so that when someone steals it, you can buy another one, that day.. possibly the same one, from the guy who stole it.
