i have a 90 jdm j1 tranny and want to put in a ls fifth. i was told since my tranny is a j1 i would need a 90-91 teg tranny as the donor for the fifth gear. my thing now is how can i tell i am getting the right donor tranny, did a search and came up with the s1 or a1 being the tranny that is needed. this is correct, right? thanks in advance.

 

Does anyone has info on this to guide me in the right direction? did a search and came up with some answers but just want some input from the experienced so i can be 100% sure. thanks
