Default Clearance Issue with Comptech Rear Sway/Tie Bar combo on EG with Exhaust

What's up guys. I initially made a thread on the Civic forum with not much feedback, so i thought i would try here, since I know many of you guys must run this setup on your EG. Question. I am running a Comptech Rear Sway/Tie Bar combo on my EG and was wondering what people with the same up are running for an exhaust. The reason I ask is because I was running an ES oval w/ custom piping and the piping would rub and touch the sway bar. I am basically looking for an exhaust set up that will clear the sway bar. Anyone with this set up on their EG hatch, please chime in. I go to occasional HPDE track days and want to get into Auto X, so taking it off is not an answer. I need suggestions. I went with an HKS hiper, under the LCA but it hangs way too low and scrapes all the damn time. HELP! TIA

go with custom setup, it is easy to fit a 3 inch exhaust in the normal area.

Just got a new Comptech rear bar. I had to wait for a bit since they were out of stock. The bar is a different design from my old one. It doesn't go straight across anymore. It now bends down, follows the the lower arm & then goes back up to attach to the link. It sort of forms the letter 'u' around where the exhaust routes. I am guessing they redesigned it to accomadate the exhuast

do you still have the old custom ES setup?if so,just get that section modified to fit.
no reason to spend big money on a blingy exhaust that may not even clear.
like was said above-i've fit 3" piping on cars with this setup no problem.

I actually was running custom setup, but the thing was the can was too long... if you guys can picture a es oval... the can is pretty long. Ide say 16-18 inches long. The issue is where the axle back piping connects to the inlet of the muffler. Since the sway bar is the old set up, there are no bends. Its straight across and the inlet of the can touches the sway bar and rattles. I daily this car, so it got annoying. That is why i went with another custom setup with an HKS Hi Power w/ under LCA. The issue with this is that the can hangs way low and scrapes like a bitch. So I am actually looking for something with a small can, that exits straight. The only thing i can think of is a Spoon N1. Anyone else have other ideas? TIA

my comptech bar used to slightly rub on my exhaust. I took the muffler off and used a 19mm impact socket and dented in the piping very slightly. not enough to make any difference in the flow/performance.

now mine doesnt rub anymore.

im using an RSR bpipe with a magnaflow muffler hidden underneath the bumper.

Thanks for the advice. I did check it out. I think that's what I'm going to go with 14" body and a total length of 20" should be good. Thanks

Switch to an ITR 22mm rear bar, it dips down where the exhaust goes over the lower control arm. You'll need to buy the bar and 2 endlinks and you should be good to go.

I did not buy the Comptech combo, just the tie bar and used an ITR bar so it can be done and I have no fitment issues but I'm only using a ITR exhuast.

if you're gonna go that far, might as well just buy the updated Comptech bar that has the dip in it.you won't have to buy endlinks if you do it that way at least, and you still have what you originally bought and wanted.

I think i'm just going to go with the magna flow oval. the one that has the 14" body. I believe that muffler should work.

I am pretty sure the e's is 14" body as well. go out to your car and measure before you get the magnaflow. There is very little room between the subframe and bumper on an eg hatch, its tricky fitting an exhaust in there good, add on a big rear sway and its even trickier. Magnaflow makes an 11" body oval, with offset entrance/center exit or offset/offset. I believe it comes in 2.25 and 2.5. That's what I'm going to be replacing my 14" one with soon.

I fought with this for a long time. I ended up going with a custom exhaust that I built myself. I used one of the Magnaflow ovals in the rear.

The only thing I tried that actually cleared the bar was a Buddy Club exhaust, but it was too loud to keep on the car.

The one i actually had was a Vibrant exhaust. Its a copy of the ES oval. I actually purchased it from a vendor here on h-t. The vendor states that it is listed as a 15" body and that definitely did not clear the sway, so i doubt the 14" magnaflow would. So i guess im going with the 11" body. Too bad it is offset entrance/center exit or offset/offset only. So that means it's not straight through. Right? Or am i wrong? Well most magnaflow ovals are straight through, but i'm not sure how much the offset inlet/outlet effects flow. Can someone chime in? thanks
