Ok, well the other day my friend was letting another friend drive his car, and like a dumbass the kid was trying to do burnouts, well the car is a stock 94 4 door GSR w/ a short ram and a fart can, nothing modded, the car has 104k on it and I believe has the stock clutch...there was a tow hitch on it and some rust on the spare tire well so I'm afraid it may have once pulled a small boat. Be it we live in florida that wouldn't be surprising. Now my question concerns this...after the kid "attempted" to do a burnout he got out and told my buddy his clutch was slipping. Understandable considering the miles and what not. But today, he got in the car to drive it (the car was fine after the burnout situation I believe). The car wouldnt go into any gear accept reverse, after putting it in reverse he backed up and from his description ( I wasn't there)...It made a loud pop...now the car will go in any gear, running w/o using the clutch, and doesn't move, you can just free rev the car. Its not the axles, I know this because I already am in the process of pulling the tranny to replace what we think was the clutch going. I fear the tranny might be blow in some way or form, but it doesn't make grinding noises or any other type of noise. I believe the pressure plate may be stuck in its disengaged position, but some of my friends are worried the tranny might actually be blow, anyone experience something like this before or anyone know a lot about trannies, i'm pulling the tranny today to look at the clutch, so I was just looking to get some input...its much appreciated and as always, thanks honda-tech!

 

It might be the pressure plate like you say or the clutch disk. Good luck

 

you wont know until you pull the tranny.....1. its eigther pressure plate/clutch problem .....or 2. something broken in the gearbox.......hopefully its #1......good luck man
