HELP! can't get the ignition timing right on my car! 91 integra w/B20B
ok well i'm trying to fix this car i just bought. its a 91 integra with a B20B swap. i fixed the coolant leaks and now i'm trying to get the timing right but its not working! i put the cyl. 1 to TDC and made sure the dizzy rotor pointed towards the 1st spark plug cap...i made sure the marks on the pulley lined up with the indicator AND i made sure the "TOP" marks on the cam gears were facing up...then i put everything back together...started the car...and the "RED' middle mark on the crank pulley doesn't even come close to the indicated on the timing belt cover where u point the timing light gun! ANY SUGGESTIONS? cause i'm stumped! i even broke out the manual and followed it word for word! help me please!
what if on the cam gears, the little marks on the teeth that your suppose to line up, didn't line up? like when your trying to find TDC and your suppose to make sure the "UP" marks on the cam gear are pointing up and your suppose to make sure the side marks on the cam gears are facing each other...well if they aren't facing dead each other is that bad? what would i need to do to fix this? loosen on cam gear to make if face the other one straight on?
