Default VSS acting up... ANNOYING

when my car sits for a while then starts, my speedo doesn't work... i have to roll and furiously hit the trip meter reset for it to work again... think its because i tried to roll back my odo? hope i don't have to put the stock DX cluster back in.. that means ricer tach...

I'd recommend checking your VSS sensor. Try cleaning it, that will fix it a lot of the time.

odometer fraud, you could do some hard time for this. but if its your VSS check the connection on the back of the cluster or if the vss is still goood itself

Only if he sells the car. I've swapped so many clusters into my car I've lost track of how many miles my car has, but then again I don't ever plan to sell my car.

like hell i'm selling this car. I <3 EG hatch. well, EH2. plus, new connector wire and new VSS... i'll have to check my crimping to make sure, lots of vibration could have fubared them. or i'll try the DX cluster for a while and if it doesn't happen with that thing i'm going to cry when i get a ricer tach. lol impossible to drive a GSR EG without a tach though

Try the other cluster, see if the problem corrects itself with the DX cluster. If it does, that tells us that your current cluster has a defective speedo. If it doesn't, I would look into your VSS.

yeah screw VSS-es. i think i could have been when i was installing my radio i pulled the radio harness a bit it could have loosened the wire behind the cluster... will have to take it apart and check it tuesday when i'm off of work.. and time to install the a/c bracket too! wewt
