The reason they suck at night is cause you don't have projectors in your headlights. Prelude headlight housings were not designed to have HIDs, so what people, inlucding myself, will do is called Retrofits. There are plenty of topics about this, just have to use the SEARCH function.

yeah i would like to see the beam pattern with the shrouds removed...

sounds like the light would be all kinds of too bright.

you shouldn't make nasty replys without fully knowning what you are talking about. you need the hid projectors to have the light the right way, the amount of glare you have coming off your car must be immense. plz post some pics of the beam pattern, im curious.

As a matter of fact I have ran HIDs without those little sheilds, and the lighting still look like **** cause it was focusing everywhere but the street like they're suppose to be and had major glare. If you use the SEARCH function, you'll realize that putting projectors will be 100x's better than just having HID bulbs put in. I bet on coming traffic loves you for blinding them For example, check this thread out https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1643009 or http://www.imagestation.com/pi...3.jpg cause that is how your lights should look like

Saying that Brian doesn't know anything about headlights is like saying that... something, whatever.

But he knows his ****, he did my retrofit and it turned out all kinds of great

WOW.....So you're basically running non-projected HID's in a high-beam set up blinding the expletive out of people.

Great Job Half-assed HID's FTL

Invest some money and do it right!

Damn everyone hates. I have seen some good looking HID's in stock housing headlights, but the more common thing to do is do the full retrofit.

d2r bulbs are for use in reflected housings and it looks alright. But the fact is even with those bulbs the prelude housing isn't meant to focus HID light the right way, the bulb sits in a different spot. The only RIGHT way to do an HID setup is a projector retrofit.

And are you running a new relay harness or off the stock headlight harness... If not you need to be running a new harness to ensure your ballasts pull a constant amount of the right voltage otherwise things could go bad.
