Default Yet another look at my bike thread.

Hey guys i've been on honda tech for a couple years now, i mostly just read other threads and generally dont post but I just got a new to me bike about 3 months ago and wanted to share it with you guys. I was forced to sell my turbo civic last year to pay for school and was still addicted to speed so I bought a bike this summer. I didnt want to spend a ton of cash on my first bike incase i drop it or what have you so i picked up a 99 CBR 900RR ( I know not the best starter bike but the price was right ) and I love it! I have taken the motorcycle safety course here in canada and have a bunch of riding gear so I am trying to play it safe. I want to get the bike painted all black with bronze rims later this summer. I love the bike scene much more then the car scene as everybody seems much nicer. I have had lots of random people just come up to me and talk to me where as in the car scene everybody seems to have a stick up their asses and just mean mugs everybody. Well with out further delay here she is.

excellent color scheme

like the others said;
1) take the MSF (motorcycle safety foundation) course
2) keep the rubber side down
3) buy some gear just in case #2 doesn't work out.

"price was right"....

buy some new tires before they blow up and you severely injure yourself

Wow man, please be extra careful.

The 900RR isn't just any liter bike. It is (so I've heard) one of the most skittish, least forgiving, most nervous bikes ever made.

thanks for the comments guys
as far as the tires are concerned I just purchased a new front tire and the rear tire while somewhat worn isn't dangerously bald (ie unsafe to ride) and i will be getting a new one shortly.

dude you don't even know what chicken strips are. down the center is majorly worn. it has some left on the edges but it's dangerously low. chicken strips are the parts of your rear tire that haven't been used because you're a "chicken" typically the average rider I've seen has a 1" bar of unused rear tire which is the chicken strip. this is why people say when you ride certain roads you'll have you won't have anymore chicken strips cause you lean way left and right even at slower speeds - aka Deals Gap

Depending on the tire I would say it's USUALLY a little bigger than 1" (from what I have seen atleast)

lol nvrmnd just got out a ruler and a inch looks about right

<--------Forgot how big an inch was

exactly. so even with big chicken strips that's the area of the tire he's not gonna use. the usable area is what matters and that's basically gone

If you were local I'd trade you my f3 for that bike, something more learner friendly.

I have not ridden one, but if I did, I'd be extra careful. One of my friends fucked himself up on one, and calls the 900RR "The Nervous Bitch."

I believe the original versions of it were more scary. Still not a noobie bike by a long shot

I searched for it on google, and it seems as though the bike got less scary as it evolved. I would still exercise extreme caution if I ever got on one.
