How to check tranny fluid???

Default How to check tranny fluid???

Hey guys and gals, wahts up...
I am trying to figure out where a noise is coming from in my transmission, so i want to check my tranny fluid, and ill prolly end up changing it, but i ran into a problem, so if someone could just explain/maybe show my a pic of where it is, that would be greatly appreciated.... BTW, i have an 89 crx SI if that helps..

I don't have a pic to show you, but I hope this helps. There is a 17mm bolt on the tranny case right by the passenger side axle. You loosen it and poor fluid in through a hose until it spills out this hole. Unless you have an automatic you can't really check the fluid. Another way is to pop your axle out. If fluid comes out then your good but if it doesn't then you need to add more.
